Young people take part in a drama workshop

"Just received the DVD / video. It looks smashing, I break out in a big broad smile whenever I watch it!"Kim Chester, Development Manager, The Waterways Trust.

Client: The Waterways Trust

Task: To develop a community play using recordings of people’s memories about the Droitwich Canals.

What we did: Ice House worked with experienced drama leader, Kerry Boorman, to develop an improvised community play with local schools and community volunteers. The play was performed at the Norbury Theatre.

How it worked: We developed props in a willow arts workshop with the High School. At the same time, Kerry developed a format that was tested in an early community play, rehearsed and performed in a single day.

Workshops for the play took place at several schools in the area and three of the schools were able to take part in the final performance on stage at the Norbury Theatre in Droitwich.
